The newly elected members of the 11th Local Tibetan Assembly of Tezy Dhargyeling were sworn in on 17 August following the appointment of Pema Sangpo, Tibetan Local Justice Commissioner of Ladkah and Northern region to administer the oath of the seven newly elected members including its chair Chemi Tsering and vice chair Palden Yeshi.

In the afternoon, the local Justice Commissioner apprised the newly elected members of the evolution of Tibetan democracy in exile and the powers and responsibilities of the three pillars of the Central Tibetan Administration. They were also apprised of the Tibetan Justice Commission’s code of judiciary and its organisation and jurisdiction.
