Sovereignty Under Siege continues....
Tariq introduced Afzal to one Mohammad at Batmalu Masjid in Srinagar. Afzal was told that Mohammad was a Pakistani national, deputed to carry out a fedayeen attack in Delhi, for which Afzal should create a base in Delhi. During his next visit to Delhi, Afzal motivated his cousin Shaukat to become a part of the conspiracy. He also asked Shaukat to find him a safe hideout for a group of terrorists, who were to come to Delhi soon for the mission. Shaukat arranged a room in a boys’ hostel in Christian Colony, Mukherjee Nagar.
During his next visit to Srinagar, Tariq took Afzal to meet Ghazi Baba aka Doctor—a Pakistani national and the supreme commander of JeM in India. Ghazi Baba, who operated out of Adu hills in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, disclosed to Afzal that a fedayeen attack in Delhi was being planned and encouraged the latter to take care of Mohammad, who was the leader of the chosen team, and provide him logistical support in Delhi.
After a few days, Afzal brought Mohammad to Delhi. Mohammad brought a laptop and lots of money with him. He was put up at the boys’ hostel in Mukherjee Nagar. Subsequently, on one of his many trips to Srinagar, Afzal
met and then escorted four other JeM terrorists, namely, Raja, Rana, Hamza and Haider, to Delhi. They were put up in Gandhi Vihar in north-west Delhi. These four terrorists brought with them four AK rifles, twelve loaded magazines, three pistols with ammunition, fifteen grenade shells, detonators, two remote-control devices and wireless transceivers hidden in their luggage.
