Sovereignty Under Siege continues.....
Ten days before the attack on the Parliament House, Afzal, Afsan Guru and Shaukat met with the five JeM fedayeens— Mohammad, Haider, Rana, Raja and Hamza—at Shaukat’s house. During this meeting, it was decided to carry out a reconnaissance of the Parliament House in advance, for which they would need a motorcycle. Afzal and Mohammad bought a second-hand Yamaha motorcycle (registration number HR 51 E 5768) from a shop in Naiwalan in Karol Bagh, Delhi. Using this motorcycle, Mohammad and Afzal recced the route between their safe house and Sansad Bhawan.
Mohammad, accompanied by Afzal, then bought a white Ambassador from Karol Bagh with the registration number DL 3C J 1527. He had a red VIP beacon fitted on it so that it could pass as a government car. A car park label for Parliament House, downloaded from the Internet, was affixed to the front windscreen, much like it is done in other MPs’ cars.
Thirty kilograms of ammonium nitrate and 4 kilograms each of sulphur and aluminium powder were purchased from Tilak Bazar in north Delhi to make IEDs. A steel container that could hold 30 kilograms of explosive material, and five containers for making tiffin bombs were purchased from Khari Baoli.
Five mobile phones, six SIM cards, five pairs of cargo trousers, five camouflage T-shirts, five jackets and five pairs of commando shoes from the Tibetan market at Majnu-ka-Tilla in north Delhi; three police uniforms from Kingsway Camp; and five backpacks from Chandni Chowk were purchased so that the fedayeens could dress as commandos during the forthcoming action.
The terrorists also prepared for themselves fake IDs of Xansa Webcity, a computer education school located at 37, Bungalow Road, Kamla Nagar. These cards were forged versions of the original identity card of the training institute under fake names such as Rohail Sharma, Raju Lal, Sanjay Kaul and so on.
