"Gifts from the Gulf" continues...
Needless to say, TV channels and newspapers the following day were full of stories on the prize catch.
The interrogation of Aftab threw up a huge database on Lashkar e Toiba, the location of their training camps, number of recruits under training etc. He also gave information on his associates and
their current location. Interrogation Reports of both Aftab and Raju were painstakingly prepared which continue to be storehouses of information on both the underworld and Pak-based Islamic terrorism.

There is an interesting aside I can’t help but mention. The Kolkata Police took Anadkat in
custody soon after he was brought back by us to Delhi. They had to interrogate him in the Partha
Roy Burman kidnap case. CBI brought Raju back once they were done. After his custodial interrogation in the Jaipur Fake Currency case of the CBI, he was remanded to judicial custody and kept in the Jaipur Jail. Several production warrants were pending against him from different courts of India. For some strange reason, maybe an inadvertent slip-up, those pending warrants
were missing when his judicial remand in the Jaipur Fake Currency Case was over and he was
bailed out. Raju Anadkat realized that the jail officials were committing a grave error as he was
still wanted by several police forces of the country and warrants were pending against him. He
asked the jail staff not to release him. They thought he had other reasons for staying on or was trying to act smart with them. They pushed him out of the jail premises forcibly without verifying what he told them.
Once thrown out of the jail, Raju called Inspector VK Shukla of the CBI, the Investigating Officer of the Jaipur Fake Currency Case, from the nearest telephone booth and apprised him of the piquant situation he was in. Taken totally by surprise, the CBI officer asked him to come to Delhi and report to him.
