Barça certainly missed four of their top players in this game, but even with all of their absences, they should never have lost this badly. Madrid showed their expertise in elimination matches, and Barça must move fast to complete the job and win La Liga.

Important players like Pedri, Dembele, Lewandowski, and Ansu Fati. Be it an injury in the right thigh, or left thigh, a strain in the hamstring, or a strong knock, it made the entire squad suffer due to their void on the field.



3 out of 4 of the forward players and 1 mid-fielder, undoubtedly lead to huge chaos in the effectiveness of the defense of the team.

3. Poor defense

Remember that this is a Barcelona defense that allows only 0.33 goals per game in La Liga. They've let up nine goals in all, two of which were own goals. They allowed four goals in a game for the first time this season on Wednesday, and it happened at home against their most dreaded foe.

In an interview, Xavi said, “The second goal was really bad for us”, which was also indicative of how weak the defense already was and the second goal put Madrid in a more powerful position on the one hand and ensured a weaker, more vulnerable state of play for Barcelona.

FC Barcelona is a team with a long way to go and a bleak future. With a UEFA investigation, financial concerns, and a player sale likely in the summer, they still face an uphill battle to achieve the level they seek, that of European competitors.
