On 26 June 1993, Real Madrid claimed their 17th Copa de España crown. The Whites faced Zaragoza in the final at the Mestalla stadium. Butragueño gave the madridistas the lead in the first half and in the 78th minute Lasa sealed the victory that clinched the trophy four years after their previous Cup triumph.
