30 years since Madrid's 17th Copa de España crown!!

On 26 June 1993, Madrid defeated Zaragoza 2-0 in the final at Mestalla.

On 26 June 1993, Real Madrid claimed their 17th Copa de España crown. The Whites faced Zaragoza in the final at the Mestalla stadium. Butragueño gave the madridistas the lead in the first half and in the 78th minute Lasa sealed the victory that clinched the trophy four years after their previous Cup triumph.

 

Under Benito Floro, Real Madrid knocked out Mallorca (round of 16), Real Sociedad (quarter-finals) and Barcelona (semi-finals). Zamorano was outstanding in that Cup run, with six goals in the seven matches.
