Amid the COVID-19 Spike, India has logged in 358 new COVID cases across the country. As per the bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for December 21, 2023, the active caseload has increased to 2,669 from 2,311.
The Union Health Ministry has also shared the updated death count, As per the data released, the number of COVID deaths has increased to 5,33,327. On December 19, the number stood at 5,33,321. As per the Health Ministry, new cases have been reported in New Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
Kerala has been the worst-hit as the active case count has crossed the 2,000 mark.
As the COVID Spike in India continues, the Health Ministry has advised all states to be alert and "not panic". The state governments have been ordered to increase the level of testing and to closely track and trace any new COVID-19 developments.
