By now, most babies are positioned for delivery, with their heads down and facing your spine.
Let's talk about baby's Development - Your baby is about the size of a head of romaine lettuce 🥬. The lungs of your baby are prepared for the outside world! Within ten seconds of delivery, your baby will breathe for the first time. As their lungs expand, air replaces any fluid that was left in the alveoli. The bones in your infant are still softer than those of an adult, but they are solidifying. During childhood, bone increasingly replaces the flexible cartilage that makes up the entirety of some. Fun fact: Adults only have 206 bones, compared to almost 275 in newborns. This is a result of some bones gradually fusing together. The majority of your baby's downy coat (lanugo) and the waxy material (vernix caseosa) that covered their skin while they were still inside the womb are falling off. Both of these materials are swallowed by your baby together with other secretions, resulting in a mixture that looks black and is known as meconium, which you may see in their first few poops.
Let's talk about Symptoms / body changes - It's common to experience aches, pains, and discomfort at this stage of the third trimester. If you have pelvic or back pain, you might want to think about getting a belly band, also called a girdle or maternity support belt.Stretchy in material, these adjustable bands support your back and hips, elevate your tummy, and help with posture. Mild cramping throughout pregnancy is normal and usually harmless.headache, dizziness, vaginal discharge and pelvic pain are some common symptoms. The lower abdomen may feel more pressure as the baby descends into your pelvis, which could make walking more difficult. You can have intense vaginal pressure and discomfort if your baby is very low. Some women claim it feels as though they're carrying a bowling ball between their legs.
