The Flag pole, weighing over 5,000kg, to be installed atop the Ram temple, arrived from Ahmedabad in Ayodhya on Monday. The 44-foot high brass pole will be installed at the main spire of the temple.
If one includes the 161-foot height of the temple, its flag will fly at a height of 205 feet. The flag pole will be installed on the day of consecration ceremony on January 22, as reported by TOI.
Ambika Engineering Company, Ahmedabad, has crafted the flag pole in nine months. L&T got this flag pole manufactured after the permission of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel had flagged off the vehicle carrying the pole in Ahmedabad on January 5. Patel had also flagged off a 56-inch nagada (drum) made of gold foil to be installed in the courtyard of Ram temple. “More than 50 people were involved in crafting main flag pole,” said artisan Maulik Panchal.
