2 Performance has become less rapid
During his time at Barcelona, the Argentanian won all of his Ballon d’Or. All 7 of them and none, at PSG, yet.
Although, he is in line to achieve his 8th one for his outstanding performance in the World Cup in Qatar. It seemed that he was only there for one purpose. To take the cup home and he did that so well, with so much perfection and grace.
His absolute prime was the season of 2014-2015 since he was only an individualistic player till 2014. But, from 2014 onwards, he became a playmaker. He made assists and did not focus on scoring his goals, single-handedly. Teamwork was his main focus and that got him more success and points.
Interestingly, only Barcelona and Real Madrid have been able to produce winners for the Ballon d’Or and not a club like PSG. Isn’t this a sign for Lionel Messi to go back to Barcelona again?
3 The fan base in PSG is not the same as in Barcelona
Messi is undoubtedly the greatest of all time. He is the king of hearts for millions of people all over the world, even if they do not follow the sport every day, they know that he adds to it, tremendously.
However, it’s pretty unfortunate that very recently, the PSG fans did not make him feel this way. They booed when the announcer took Messi’s name post-PSG meeting with Bordeaux at the Parc des Princes last season.
The fans saw him as a huge factor of concern for the success of the club but the fact that they booed him, was not pleasantly received by the Argentinian. He said it in his interview as well. He was definitely not expecting anything of this sort.
At Camp Nou, this hasn’t happened and as far as his fandom goes, this would never happen.
