6 POPULAR KOREAN DRAMAS THAT WERE CRITICIZED !!

1) THE K2 (2016)

Ji Chang Wook had a fighting scene in the bathroom naked which was criticized as the scene was considered inappropriate to be broadcast during family entertainment hours.

2) MY MISTER (2018)

Received a lot of rejection in the begining because of the very large age difference between IU and Lee Sun Kyun. IU had to later on clarify in her Vlive that 'MY MISTER' is not a romance drama, but a drama about human relations in a social environment.

3) THE KING ETERNAL MONARCH (2020) Among the many criticisms, the appearance of silhouette of a Japanese temple in the opening video for THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH received most attention. After receiving much pressure, the production team finally decided to remove the silhouette of the temple and apologize to the audience.

4) BACKSTREET ROOKIE (2020)

It received a lot of criticism especially in South Korea mainly because it showed a kissing scene between a high school student and an adult man. The backlash was so huge that it even received a warning from KCSC (Korea Communications Standards Commission)

5) MR. QUEEN (2020)

MR. QUEEN is the work of adaptation of a novel by Xian Chen, who had made negative comments about Korea in his other works. Because of this, the production team had to apologize for not being aware of this matter.This drama is also said to insulted Joseon royal history. Even though this is a comedy drama, the audience said that some of the jokes were quite inappropriate.

6) IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY (2020) Received backlash from Korean audiences for having a number of controversial scenes leading to sexual harassment that appeared in episode 3. There were many scenes that were believed to fall into the category of explicit verbal abuse. Seo yeji's recent drama EVE also was criticized due to inappropriate sexual scene.
