"Athithi Devo Bhawa (Guest is God)" continues...
Trumatised and under tremendous fear psychosis, the girls could not muster enough courage to attempt escape. Eventually, in the early hours of October 20, 2001, they were dropped at the International Airport and forced to fly to London by Kuwait Airways, even though they had plans to return to Australia. Presumably, they were sent to London as the parcels prepared by the miscreants at Jaipur had been mailed to the Main Post Office of the British capital. In any case, it was part of the modus operandi of the gang to send its victims to a country other than where they belonged.
On reaching London, Judy and Joan went to the Australian High Commission and reported their horrific experiences of Jaipur and Delhi to the authorities.. The High Commission in turn informed the New Scotland Yard whose detectives recorded their statements. The detectives also recovered the parcels from the Main Post Office, London which were prepared in Mike’s shop in Jaipur and forcibly mailed from New Delhi. Subsequently, when examined by an expert, the ‘precious stones’ turned out to be made of glass. The Scotland Yard informed the CBI when they found Judy ready to pursue the matter in India.

Gooch and Detective Constable Stephen Goodhew of New Scotland Yard and gave a
more detailed account of her travails. When the photographs of Liyaqat Ali and his associate Syed Asim Ali, both tracked down by Inspector Ajay Bassi on the basis of call details, were shown to Judy, she said they were not the culprits who had tormented Joan and her.
