What happened yesterday was nothing less than bizarre! Tech juggernaut Microsoft suffered global outage.
It was an official blue screen day for people around the world! Several users from different nations like India, Germany, Australia, the UK, and the United States experienced blue screen issues on their devices.
The technical issue is causing their systems to shut down or restart automatically. According to American technology company, Dell Technologies, the crash is due to a recent update by CrowdStrike.
The issue started to surface on Thursday evening and affected several systems including Microsoft's Central US region, airlines like American Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Allegiant, and Sun Country in the United States of America. In India, systems of Indigo Airlines and other airlines were also affected by the crash.
Experts did not figure out the cause of the problem immediately. Several people had their speculations however, later it was found out that it was due to a CrowdStrike update.
CrowdStrike Holdings is an American cybersecurity platform. It provides security solutions to several businesses and users. As per the reports, a faulty and buggy update made by CrowdStrike's Falcon Sensor caused the malfunction and crash in Microsoft's systems.
CrowdStrike has confirmed the error and said, "Our Engineers are actively working to resolve this issue and there is no need to open a support ticket." The company will release a statement to update the users once the issue is resolved.
The Blue Screen of Death or simply BSOD is the blue critical error screen that pops up on the Windows operating system when the system crashes. This causes automatic restart and shut down of the device and the unsaved data is generally lost during this.
