Last night was the much awaited first match of the T20I series between India and Australia.

After the defeat of India, at the World Cup Final 2023, this match held a lot of importance for team India and its future, as all the young players were playing in the series.

India had a historic win to take a 1-0 lead in the five match T20I series. 🇮🇳

It was a brilliant captaincy done by Suryakumar Yadav!  He also won the Player of the Match, A perfect start to SKY's T20I captaincy stint. 🔥

With India winning the toss, they chose to bowl first!

In the first innings Australia scored 208/3.

Inglis scored his first T20I century in just 47 balls, and made 110 runs in just 50 balls, before being sent to pavillion by Y Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar. On the contrary, Steven Smith (52) completed his half century and then was RUN OUT on the 5th delivery by Mukesh Kumar of the 16th over.

With India batting on the second innings, though had a shaky start, but chasing a mammoth 209-run target, Suryakumar Yadav scored 80 off 42 balls, while Kishan made 58 off 39 balls to take India home in the final ball.

Towards the end, Rinku Singh (22 not out off 14 balls) delivered the finishing touches with a six to take India home.

India-origin leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha (2/47) picked up two wickets for Australia.

It was a great for India for the series against Australia, the much needed win! 👏

It was record chase from team India to kick-off their 2024 T20 World Cup preparation on a positive note. 🇮🇳🔥
