A January Exit On the Cards for Luka Modric? The Real Madrid Midfielder Discussed His Future In Recent Interview...
Luka Modric is not happy with his role at Real Madrid at the moment. Even head coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted that the Croatian is angry with the minutes that he is getting to play. Owing to this, an exit in January could be on the cards for the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner.
Talking to the media about his future, Modric said (via 90min), "I wouldn't want to get into that right now, There's still a long time to go until the winter and the end of the year, at my age it's hard to predict anything in the long term. We have to go from game to game and we'll see what the future will bring."
Modric signed a new one-year deal with Real Madrid this summer having turned down offers from Saudi Arabia. However, having started just three out of the nine LaLiga games for Los Blancos, a January exit would not be unlikely.
Dinamo Zagreb's chairman has already confirmed that he will be reaching out to his fellow Croatian in January, attempting to get him back to his old club. Apart from Dinamo Zagreb, Saudi Pro League clubs are also expected to line up if the 38-year-old decides to leave.
Should Modric make the switch in January or should he wait until the end of the 2023/24 season? Let me know your thoughts...
