Halim Agha Shirzad, the international referee of Afghanistan, who has refereed the matches between Porto and Cardiff, Sporting and Sociedad and Villa Real and Sporting in Portugal, Despite the proposal from the Portuguese Football Federation to join the referees of this country, he wants to referee only under the name of Afghanistan.
Two days ago, on the day of the match between Sporting Portugal and Villa Real of Spain, the "José Alvalade" stadium in Lisbon was full of spectators; But what attracted the most attention was the presence of a young referee from Afghanistan in the middle of the field.
In the match where Sporting won 0-3 and Shirzad dominated the entire game and He had an admirable performance.
Shirzad, who went to Portugal after the political change in Afghanistan, has been refereeing in the provincial leagues of this country for about a year. After the Portuguese football referees saw his ability to judge, Shirzad was included in the refereeing classes of the second league and after graduation, he was included in the list of C2 referees in Portugal.
Regarding his refereeing in European football, Shirzad said: "The Portuguese Football Federation asked me to be among the referees of this federation; But because I am the only international referee of Afghanistan, I did not accept this offer; Because I want to represent Afghanistan in the competition."
He says: "I chose to judge for Afghanistan, I don't know what will happen in Asia; But for now I want to continue my refereeing in Portugal. It should not be forgotten that it is the cooperation of the Portuguese Football Federation with me that I can be both the international referee of Afghanistan and judge in the Portugal League.
Shirzad is among the C2 referees in the refereeing category of the Portuguese Football Federation, who can be middle referees in the second league; But in the first league, he can be present as the fourth referee and video assistant referee; Because in the first league of Portugal, only referees who are among C1 referees and members of UEFA referees can judge as center referees.
