Due to the taboo surrounding periods, we were kept from proper information for the longest time. Instead, we were fed myths and forbidden from going about our daily lives normally. For many years, we believed (and probably still do) that menstruation was something dirty and impure. And that the only good thing about it was that it let us create life.

But, for a second, imagine this - Would things have been different if we had been properly taught about periods by our parents or mentors? Would our outlook have been different? Would we have been less scared and confused?

The answer is probably yes.

let us all pledge to Teach Young. Be it your kids or pre-teens around you that look up to you, let's teach them about menstruation. Both boys and girls. It'll help raise an empowered future generation of menstruators. And compassionate individuals who help end period stigma.
