The weather in Delhi seems to be little relieving, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for the Delhi-NCR region, warning of potential dust storms and pre-monsoon showers on Saturday, June 8.
The upcoming week is expected to bring warmer weather conditions with increased humidity levels, potentially leading to a resurgence of heatwave conditions in the national capital.
Temperatures in Delhi are forecasted to soar to a staggering 44 to 45 degrees Celsius or higher, with the city likely to experience monsoon rains by June 27. On Saturday, the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be 33.13 degrees Celsius and 43.3 degrees Celsius, respectively, with humidity levels at 15 per cent. The weather is predicted to be cloudy throughout the day.
According to the IMD, the wind direction is expected to predominantly remain westerly to northwesterly on Saturday, resulting in a dry and hot day. However, there is a possibility of some dust storm activity and light rain towards the late evening and night.
The weather department has attributed the "weather change" to the influence of a new western disturbance. The mercury rose marginally across the city on Friday, but no heatwave conditions were recorded for a second consecutive day.
