A Pennsylvania state representative was elected to another term. But theres a problem, he died one month before the election.
In an odd turn of events, Democrat Anthony DeLuca, who died of lymphoma one month earlier at the age of 85 was elected to another term as a state representative.
A special election will be held to determine who will hold that seat.
Of course, this situation begs the question: how could voters possibly vote for a dead man? It’s simple when you think about it; many voters simply vote along party lines, often not giving much thought to representatives they don’t know about. Given the fact that just 37% of Americans can name their congressman, it is likely that state representatives will be known at a much lower rate.
