The use of gender by conflating it with logic, language, understanding, and clarity is belittling in multiple layers.

It removes an individual’s experience by creating different checkbox compartments — vague mentions of ‘language’ or ‘comprehension’ — before that individual is seen as worth listening to.

As long as the gender binary is practiced, it will continue to reinforce stereotypes that restrict how people treat each other. As long as we keep using education as a generalized qualification, conversations will be gatekept by irrational standards on who’s worth listening to and who isn’t. As long one religion is seen as ‘harmful’ to another, the potential to understand humans through their individual experiences will continue to be erased.
