What an eventful year it was for all of us
I clearly remember it was exactly today a year back when my Covid Reports came and I tested positive. Well, it was no surprise for me, somehow I knew it subconsciously, but a part of me wanted the reports to come negative.
Although I'm an optimistic person, but as there was confusion everywhere about how the virus really functions and affects individuals, I was scared.
I along with my mother and brother tested positive. We were clueless, but we were positive both literally and figuratively. It wasn't easy for us because there were days when our oxygen saturation levels were less than 90-92. We three were quarantining together in the same room, but there was always a fear in our minds that our condition may deteriorate and there might be a need for hospitalization.
From Christmas to New Year, I spent my last days of the year and entered 2021 being Covid Positive.
It felt like my whole body was broken, as there was so much pain in my body. The first 10 days were the most difficult. The vision of it is very blurred, but I remember just sleeping the whole day during the initial days, and when we were awake, we used to have food, take medicines and steam therapy.
There were times, Mom had too much chest pain, and it felt like my world was about to collapse, but I had one relief, we had 3 home guards sitting just outside our door waiting to help in case of emergency, or help us with any other need and essentials.
As the load of cases during that time weren't as high in the city, therefore we got attention and care from the authorities of Delhi government. Everyday different Doctors called us to ask about our health. Medical officers came to check our condition, and to ask if we needed anything or not, along with our house being properly sanitized
