India had taken a young squad for the tour of Zimbabwe as they begin a new cycle following the T20 World Cup win. Shubman Gill will be leading the team as the seniors take a rest following the World title win.
Abhishek's debut was confirmed by Gill on July 5, Thursday during the press conference with the dashing opener starting alongside with the Indian captain at the top.
Riyan had a breakout IPL season this year and was expected to be in the mix for a debut. Jurel, had already made his international debut during the Test series against England earlier in the year, and will now making his bow in white-ball cricket.
Jurel will be keeping the wickets for India in the match, which also sees Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed come in to the team after travelling as reserves for the T20 World Cup 2024 alongside the Indian team.
