Absolutely phenomenal. start to finish. As triggering as it was at several spots, I cannot overlook how raw and real this is, and even with the leads to twists giving almost complete clarity as to where it's turning, there's just enough mystery to keep viewers watching. Unsurprisingly, it's based on a book (which I haven't read, so I don't know if it holds true to form), because it's so incredibly well planned. Without adding any spoilers, I do want to note the smug/petty glance the defence attorney sends at the mother when he closes his questioning. It was a side plot ending that made me especially wonder how it was going to end! From start to finish, I loved this.
Also, despite the English (CC) subtitles not always lining up with the dubbed words, I feel they did an amazing job at both and lining up the translations beautifully, where I could hardly tell it wasn't originally shot in my own language. With foreign productions, it isn't always the case, and I'll never be so entitled to think everything should be done in English first and translated from there, but the conversion over was smooth and didn't distract from the story at all.
Additionally, the other sounds were mastered in such a way that even watching all of this while wearing headphones (Beats Studio Pro, with ANC and personalised spatial audio on and volume up loud, if a question of clarity is asked), the dubbed voices blended into the environment as if it were all recorded on-scene. There have been several I've watched where dubbed voices seem out of place and sit on top of the surrounding sounds, or are lazily all the same volume throughout. Someone took their time with this, and I highly appreciate efforts like that!
