The Afghanistan Cricket Board has made significant coaching appointments, welcoming former South African cricketer Andrew George Puttick as the National Team's new batting coach and Gordon James Parsons as the National U19s' Mentor for the upcoming ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024.

Andrew Puttick, a seasoned left-handed opening batsman, brings a wealth of experience from his prolific domestic career in South Africa. With coaching roles including batting coach for the Pakistan Men’s National Team in 2023 and previous positions with South Africa's women's and men's teams, Puttick's one-year contract positions him to contribute to Afghanistan's cricketing success.

Gordon James Parsons, an English-South African with an impressive record as a right-arm medium-fast bowling all-rounder, takes on the role of National U19 Team’s Mentor. His extensive experience in both batting and bowling, coupled with his significant cricketing journey in England and South Africa, is expected to guide Afghanistan's young talents in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024.

Puttick will join the Afghanistan National Team during their upcoming three-match T20I tour of India, while Parsons has already commenced his role, mentoring the National U19 Team in South Africa for the upcoming World Cup. These strategic appointments reflect Afghanistan's commitment to nurturing and developing cricketing talent at both senior and youth levels.
