Ace week ends
Ace week, started as Asexual Awareness Week in 2010, ends today, Oct. 29. Asexuality is when someone experiences no sexual attraction- though, as you'll find out, it is a spectrum encompassing different forms of this umbrella term.
Asexuality is the A in LGBTQIA+ not standing for Ally or any other term. Asexuality is an umbrella term that represents everyone who chooses to call themselves asexual, and it inclues grey-asexual, demisexual, and more.
Grey-asexuality is when someone experiences some sexual attraction, but rarely or not as strongly. Demisexual is when someone only experiences sexual attraction after a strong bond is already formed.
Asexuality is an umbrella term, and each individual person experiences their sexuality differently. For some, they are sex-repulsed, meaning that they don't like the idea of sex and will never take part in it. Sex-neutral refers to people who are neutral about sex, and may participate if a partner wants to or for other reasons, but rarely do so of their own choice. Sex-positive refers to people who may have sex and enjoy it, but don't experience sexual attraction.
Asexuality and aromanticism are two different things- asexuality brought to light differences in romantic and sexual attraction, and while a majority of asexual people are aromantic, not all are. It is not uncommon to meet an asexual biromantic person, for example.
