Afghanistan's national futsal team defeated Turkmenistan 3-2 yesterday in its fifth and last match in the Central Asian Futsal Championship (CAFA) and became the runner-up in this competition with 10 points. The Afghan team ended its work in this tournament with three wins, one draw and one defeat.

Afghanistan's national futsal team faced Turkmenistan without three of its players, Seyed Hossein Mousavi and Farzad Mahmoudi due to suspension and Hamidreza Hosseini due to injury. This match was tied 0-0 in the first half. But in the second half, the Afghan players led Turkmenistan with two goals. Then the result was 2-1.

In the following, the Afghan players scored the third goal. This match ended 3-2 in favor of Afghanistan. In these matches, Afghanistan defeated the teams of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, lost to Iran and drew with the Tajikistan team.

Now, whatever result is reached in the match between the claimant teams of Iran and Tajikistan, Afghanistan's runner-up position is certain.
