According to Mohammad Yusuf Kargar, the president of the Afghanistan Football Federation, the country's under-23 team has withdrawn from the Asian Games in Hangzhou. The reason for this is not having enough funds to send this team to the Asian Games.
Afghanistan's Omid team was supposed to face Hong Kong, Syria and Uzbekistan in Hangzhou; But the National Olympic Committee of Afghanistan, which is under the control of the Taliban, has refused to send this team to these games due to lack of sufficient funds.
Mohammad Yusuf Kargar, the head of the football federation, said that the federation will not send a team to Hangzhou. He added that Omid team's absence from the Asian Games will not affect the position of this federation in FIFA and AFC.
