Amid rising temperatures across the nation, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued another heat wave warning for the northern part of the country.
A day after Delhi’s Najafgarh witnessed record breaking temperature 47 degree celcius, the weather department has stated that the northern plains will fail to get any respite from the searing and scalding heat waves till May 21, Tuesday.
Taking it to official social media handle, the India Meteorological department said that severe heat wave conditions likely to continue over plains of Northwest India during next 5 days and whereas the conditions are likely to continue over East & Central India during next 3 days.
The weather department further said that people will continue witnessing heat waves for some more days. The conditions will prevail in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Northern Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha and isolated places of Gujarat.
Red to Orange alert has been issued for several parts of Northern India. According to met department, the temperature in the hilly area reaches 30 degree C or more for hilly regions. Meanwhile, the weather department has directed the people to stay indoor and hydrate and follow all necessary precautions.
