Against all expectations, I love this show. I haven't read the books and found the movies okay but not memorable. So, I'm coming from a place of ignorance about the original storyline and characters. What I particularly love about the Amazon Prime show is the casting, which hits all the right notes with each character. The sense of humor doesn't make light of loss and grief, and especially how Roscoe is presented. I can't express how wonderful it is to see a leading lady in an action series depicted in such a believable and relatable way. She has her hair tied up in a practical way, wears absolutely appropriate and sensible shoes and uniform (not the sexy cop version, thank God!), and doesn't come across as if she has spent 5 hours with a team of stylists and makeup artists before every scene. I love her character, and I find her, Reacher, and Finlay a delightful trio to watch. Their chemistry and distinct character differences really work. So, I love it all the casting, sparkling script, and the cracking pace the story moves along. I wish Prime would make more in this vein.
