As a fifty-five-year-old, I gotta admit a terrible truth. Ageism is a common occurrence. I used to think getting older is easier in corporate when I was in my twenties. I couldn't be more wrong. Some may consider me too old to keep up because I am past the midpoint of my life, it's very likely I am not even included in many projects.

God help you if you're over 50 and you lose your job. Finding work is nearly impossible because any employer will pay greater social insurance premiums for you than for a 20-year-old. So there is active discrimination happening, based only on a potential applicant's age.

Anyone who doesn't believe this is a concern should be reminded that they will be this age one day. 🤷‍♂️
