The government will be allocating at least Rs 15000 crore to improve the socio-economic condition of the tribals.

"Pradhan Mantri PVTG(particularly vulnerable tribal groups) Development Mission is being launched to improve the socio-economic condition of the vulnerable groups. A total of Rs 15,000 crore will be  made available to implement the scheme in the next three years." FM  Nirmala Sitharaman announced in her Union Budget 2023 speech.

The focus will be given on the areas like health, clean water and sanitation, basic infrastructure and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The aim is to allay the plight of vulnerable tribal groups by giving them much-needed support.

Apart from this, FM has also announced the recruitment of 38800 teachers and staff for the existing " 740 Eklavya Model Residential Schools, meant for tribal students across the country."
