All the eyes in the world are on Chandrayaan 3 now, since Luna 25 has crashed and the spacecraft has reached closer to the Moon and is all set to soft-land on the lunar surface by August 23, Wednesday.
The ISRO said it successfully reduced the orbit of the Chandrayaan-3 mission's Lander Module (LM) on Sunday.
"The soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 is a monumental moment that not only fuels curiosity but also sparks a passion for exploration within the minds of our youth," the ISRO said on X (formally Twitter).
The mission objectives of Chandrayaan-3 are to demonstrate a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface, to demonstrate rover roving on the Moon, and to conduct in-situ scientific experiments.
The lander will now undergo internal checks and await sunrise at the designated landing site before attempting the final landing.
The spacecraft is healthy and everything is going as per the plan, officials familiar with the development at the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) said.
Hopefully India will make history by landing on the Moon. Eagerly waiting!
