Alpather Lake, at a height of 4,390 metres, is a charming little lake at the bottom of the twin Apharwat Peaks. One of the top tourist destinations in the tiny town of Gulmarg is the frozen Lake, as it is also known by the locals.
This lake is a sight to behold, surrounded by steep mountains and lush, green meadows that are blooming with wildflowers. Actually, the entire journey you will take to arrive here is an event within itself. You know you're going to be talking about this journey for days to come when you finally get to stand on the banks of a breathtakingly beautiful lake in the middle of nowhere, at the top of the tallest peak around.
