After winning a record-breaking 83rd World Cup race on Tuesday, American skier Mikaela Shiffrin experienced all of the emotions.
According to news reports, with her victory in the giant slalom, Shiffrin broke a tie for first place with her former American colleague Lindsey Vonn, who retired four years ago after her career was ended by injuries.
Shiffrin added, "I don't think there are words to convey all the sensations. At the end, there seems to be too much excitement to handle. That may or may not make sense. You therefore cannot explain it. I simply make an effort to relax and take it all in. “
In order to equal Ingemar Stenmark's total record of 86 victories (among men and women), Shiffrin simply needs three more triumphs.
Here’s hoping she achieves it real soon!
