Yesterday, Kapil Dev claimed that he wasn’t invited to watch the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Dev who India’s 1983 World Cup winning captain said this while speaking to ABP News, Dev said he wasn’t invited which is why he did not go to watch the final between India and Australia.

“I wasn’t invited. They didn’t call me so I did not go. As simple as that. I wanted the whole ’83 team to be there with me but I guess due to the fact that it’s such a big event and people are so busy handling responsibilities, sometimes they forget,” said Dev.

It was under Dev’s leadership that India won its first ODI World Cup title, way back in 1983. India beat the West Indies in the 1983 World Cup final at Lord’s to clinch the trophy for the very first time.
