Anchar Lake is one of Srinagar's most tranquil locations since it is connected to the lovely Dal Lake by a stream known as "Amir Khan Nallah." During floods, Dal Lake's floodwaters are directed here.

Winter is a particularly popular time for birdwatching since it allows for easy viewing of birds like Teal, Pochard, Gadwall, Snipe, and Mallard. Visitors can also take Shikara rides at the Anchar Lake.
