It's so horrible an experience..
Unfortunately you are right not much has changed
And As I said in the beginning , things haven't changed. From a 4th grader, who was groped by the hairdresser, while washing the hair before the haircut, as I sat shocked and did not understand what happened( but terribly uncomfortable)- to a PG student , who slapped the fellow who tried to grope in the private bus - to a working professional shouting at a man who was comfortably looking down the cleavage of a school kid in public transport- to being humiliated by staring /showing his tongue, by a two wheeler fellow on the road, at your thighs ,as you drove pillion sitting sideways with a colleague- things haven't changed . And how much ever bold you are, the initial instinct is a shock/numbness before you react.
And I still wonder with all the pomp of glory of women being great, mother being most wonderful person on the earth , women being superhumans , still women are being treated as a meatloaf by some men ! And interestingly we have the culture /family/ textbooks/ media etc at least at times blaming it all on how women dress. And at least for some ,Even if the whole body is covered, it isn't modest dressing for women, but if a man dresses in low waist jeans, tight skinned jeans and the rest , its 100% modest . And I have never reported anything but have told many people about it. Thankfully, I have friends and relatives who have voiced my opinion and stood strong with me , but am sure there are a % of people, behind my back will definitely say it was my fault and that I should be ashamed.
Will the world ever change? Or will it be discussions/seminars/women's day conferences by the hypocrites around ?
