Angel knocks out top seed Anandita in national sub-junior championship.

Angel Patel knocked out the top seed Anandita Upadhyay 6-3, 6-1 in the under-16 girls second round of the Fenesta National sub-junior tennis championship at the DLTA Complex on Tuesday.

Angel will play Sherry Sharma in the pre-quarterfinals. Deepshika Vinayagamurthy ousted second seed Ranjhana Sangram 6-2, 6-0 to set up a pre-quarterfinal against Prachi Malik.

Mahijeet Pradhan knocked out sixth seed Himanish Brinda 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in the under-16 boys second round. In another match, M Diganth beat fourth seed Prakaash Sarran 6-4, 7-5.Third seed Samarth Sahita beat Neel Kelkar 6-2, 6-4 to set up a pre-quarterfinal against Aditya Mor.
