Are Bayern Munich losing the plot?
Was sacking Julián Nagelsmann the worst decision ever made?
To begin with, nobody expected Bayern Munich to sack Julián Nagelsmann during the last international break. The club was second in the league at that time — behind Dortmund.
But the reason given by the hierarchy for removing Nagelsmann hierarchy was that the team has gone backwards.
CEO Oliver Kahn told the club website: "When we signed Julian Nagelsmann for FC Bayern in the summer of 2021, we were convinced we would work with him on a long-term basis - and that was the goal of all of us right up to the end.
"Julian shares our aspiration to play successful and attractive football. But now we have come to the conclusion that the quality in our squad - despite the Bundesliga title last year - has come to the fore less and less often."
The former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel took over the club, and since then they’ve been eliminated from the Champions League and domestic cup DFB Pokal.
Following today’s defeat to Mainz, Thomas Tuchel spoke about Bayern’s terrible moment. He said, “We have no energy, I don’t know why. It’s so difficult. The team looks like they have already played 70 games this season… We're not awake, we're exhausted.”

Will the 49 year old Champions League winner help Bayern end the season with a trophy or there are excused lined up ahead?
Was there a change necessary in the middle of the season and break the rhythm?
Things looks very different from what it was before sacking Nagelsmann. Tuchel will need to get more out of the players if he wants to win the Bundesliga.
