It was Golden Gloves not the boots … but I agree with you . Argentina reached the finals and won the World Cup because of him !
In a heartfelt gesture, Sevilla player Papu Gomez celebrated his countrymen, Emi Martinez, with a tattoo of his 123rd-minute save against France in the World Cup final.
The midfielder shared three photos on his Instagram account to commemorate his latest triumph in Qatar. The player had three tattoos: an Argentina shirt on his back, a World Cup trophy, and goalkeeper Emi Martinez's breath-taking save in the final, which culminated in a penalty and Argentina's eventual success.
Martinez was awarded the Golden Boot for his heroic performances and some saves that helped Argentina reach final stages in the World Cup 2022. But no save could beat his stop in the 123rd minute, Aston Villa's goalkeeper came grasping in a 1v1 against France's Randal Kolo Munani, and stretched his right-led to prevent the winner for France.
Martinez's mind tricks once again culminated in a penalty that saw Argentina win 4-2, after France missed two penalties by Kinglsey Koman and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Although, Gomez made only two appearances in the World Cup and is yet to play for Sevilla after picking up an injury in the tournament, while Martinez has returned for Aston Villa and appeared in their 1-1 draw against Wolves in Premier League fixture.
