Arsenal Complete David Raya's Signing from Brentford for £27m, Official Announcement Soon!

Arsenal are finalizing their second signing of the summer by officially activating their purchase option for David Raya. According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will acquire the goalkeeper from Brentford for £27 million, with an announcement expected soon.

The timing aligns with Brentford's financial year ending on June 30th. It appears the clubs agreed to finalize the deal after the end of the previous financial year to include it in their upcoming financial statements.

Arsenal, close to breaching the Profit and Sustainability Rules in 2023/24, preferred to delay the purchase. Meanwhile, Brentford opted to finalize the sale this summer for their financial benefit.

Having joined Arsenal on loan last season, Raya made 41 appearances for the club, keeping 20 clean sheets in all competitions. With Aaron Ramsdale likely to leave the Gunners this summer, Raya will undoubtedly be the starter once again for the club.
