The Football Association (FA) have cleared Arsenal of any wrongdoing following the side's post-goal celebrations against Bournemouth last Saturday. The Gunners were under investigation after matchday referee Chris Kavanagh noted the reaction in his referee's report.
It came in the midst of a five-goal thriller in north London that may have swung the title picture once again. The Cherries took the lead just nine seconds into the game before doubling it in the second half, putting the home side under immense pressure to match rivals Manchester City's positive result against Newcastle earlier in the day.
Thomas Partey and Ben White struck back shortly after, but it took until the 97th minute for a final breakthrough to complete the comeback. Substitute Reiss Nelson received the ball in the box and hit a half-volley that evaded everyone and nestled into the back of the net.
At that moment, any tension in the ground dissipated into rapturous scenes as the whole Arsenal bench ran around and celebrated. Amongst the scenes was a jubilant Mikel Arteta, who high-fived a child on the sidelines before seemingly realising they weren't where they were supposed to be.
"It’s probably the loudest and the most emotional moment that we have lived together," the Spaniard told reporters after the game. "The journey that we’ve been on together and how the supporters and the players are gliding together. Adding into that moment, it’s really special."
The FA investigation afterwards was to ensure the players and staff followed a rule in which they act in a responsible manner, restricting them to the technical area unless the circumstance would suggest they could act otherwise.
The Gunners have previously been hit with two charges for failing to control their players earlier this season, but on this occasion have escaped without any further issue.
