The Asian Taekwondo Championships G2, held in Islamabad, Pakistan, have concluded, with Afghanistan clinching the most prestigious awards among the 23 participating countries. Mohsen Rezaei was chosen as the best athlete, Mohammad Bashir Taraki as the best coach, and Afghanistan as the best team in the competition.
Athletes from Asia, Europe, America, and Africa participated in the men's and women's categories at the Asian Taekwondo Championships in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The Afghan national taekwondo team secured two gold and two silver medals in the men's category, and one bronze in the women's category.
Mohsen Rezaei, the captain of the Afghan national taekwondo team, who emerged as a powerful champion in the competition, was ultimately selected as the best fighter and received the special tournament prize.
Mohammad Bashir Taraki, the head coach of the Afghan national taekwondo team, was awarded the best coach prize. His students achieved the most victories and points, with two gold medals earned by Mohsen Rezaei and Ali Akbar Amiri, and two silver medals by Omid Sahak and Hekmatullah Zain.
Furthermore, Zarghona Noori, the only female participant from outside Afghanistan in the competition, succeeded in winning a bronze medal.
Those athletes who did not win medals left the competition after several victories, making a significant contribution to the team awards and the best coach category.
Mohsen Rezaei also appeared in a higher class of these competitions, demonstrating his prowess despite the challenging contests, and won the award for the best athlete.
In the team ranking for the men's category, following Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kazakhstan secured the second and third positions.
