Tourism Australia hopes that the cricket match between India and Pakistan during the ICC T20 World Cup in Melbourne in October will attract tourists from India. In October and November, Australia will host the World Cup.

According to Brent Anderson, regional general manager for Tourism Australia's Southeast Asia region, the nation anticipates receiving 400,000 visitors by June of next year, which will be on par with pre-covid levels. "Since China has closed, India has gained importance. India would be our top tourism market by 2030, he said.
