Australia to Defend Women's T20 World Cup Title on October 5

Defending champions Australia will begin their Women's T20 World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on October 5 in the UAE. India will face New Zealand a day earlier in Dubai. The tournament was moved from Bangladesh due to country-wide agitations. The group stages will be split between Dubai and Sharjah, with Australia playing three matches in Sharjah and India playing three in Dubai. The semi-finals and final have been allotted a reserve day, unlike the men's T20 World Cup. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
