Australia wins the second ODI, handing India their worst-ever defeat in terms of remaining balls
Australia won the second ODI in Visakhapatnam on Sunday with 234 balls remaining, handing India their worst-ever ODI defeat in terms of time remaining. For the second time in ODI cricket, Australia defeated India by a margin of 10 wickets. After 11 overs, Australia reached the 118-run mark. India's lowest ODI score against Australia at home was 117 runs, which they were dismissed for.
Australia defeated India by 10 wickets in the second One-Day International to tie the three-match series at 1-1. The victory was aided by an unbroken 121-run opening stand between Mitchell Marsh (66 not out) and Travis Head (51 not out). After Mitchell Starc's 5/53 decimated India's batting, the tourists took just 11 overs to reach their meagre goal of 118. Starc took full advantage of the favourable circumstances to dismiss India for 117 in 26 overs. His tenth five-wicket haul in ODIs, together with strong performances from Nathan Ellis (2/13) and Sean Abbott (3/23) prevented Indian hitters from settling in during seaming and swinging conditions.
