Avatar: The Way of Water is shaping up to be one enormous performance. The movie is causing mayhem at the box office thanks to an overwhelming worldwide response.

Let’s take India for example.

In India itself, a big haul of 129 crores was achieved thanks to fantastic performances on Saturday and Sunday after earning a huge opening of 41 crores on Friday.

As per news reports, only one Hollywood film has ever received a 100 percent opening weekend gross in India's history, and that film is Avengers: Endgame.

That mark of 157.20 crores stands and would require something extraordinarily exceptional to be surpassed. But there was a large gap between that movie and its precursor Avengers: Infinity War, which has made 94.30 crores and Avatar: The Way of Water enables this gap to be crossed.
