Avocados are bad for environment so I don’t know why they need to be celebrated?
As lifestyleAsia says, in every market, supply and demand must be balanced. Consequently, production must increase proportionately when there is a strong demand. As a result, avocado cultivation is becoming more and more attractive to growers, which makes the fruit harmful for the environment.
Moreover, a lot of water is needed for avocados.
According to various estimates, an avocado requires between 227 and 320 litres of water to thrive. Already, this places a significant water load on nearby populations.
However, it is made worse by the fact that the majority of avocados are exported rather being consumed locally, depriving the population even more of the water needs that avocados could have provided.
