The countdown has begun for one of the largest events of the decade.
The nation is buzzing with excitement as the Ram Mandir inauguration is slated to be done on January 22 at the sacred city of Ayodhya.
Ahead of the grand opening ceremony, the chadawa (offertory) and donations by devotees to Ram Lalla have increased, as reported by News18.
Reportedly, the Ram temple trust is receiving donations worth three to four lakhs daily, as per the current situation. As far as monthly donations are concerned, the trust is receiving around Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 crore every month.
Earlier, the Trust used to count the collection manually but now, it has started using cash counting machines. This is because of the huge amount of donations flowing in for the Ram temple consecration ceremony.
Prakash Gupta, in charge of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's office, Ayodhya, informed, "Earlier, counting of offertory used to take place on the fifth and 20th day of each month. Now, this work is being done daily." The Trust has also started using cash counting machines.
It is pertinent to note that the Trust is receiving daily donations from devotees through various modes, including online, cheque, and cash apart from donations at Ram Mandir.
The donations collected through other modes are around Rs 2 lakh per day. An estimate suggests that the Trust is receiving monthly donations of more than Rs 1 crore. Donations are also being received from NRIs at the bank account of the Trust in New Delhi.
Ever since the 44-day nationwide fund collection campaign of the Trust - Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan - was launched on January 15, 2021. Devotees from across the world have been contributing towards the grand event for the nation. As a consequence, the donations to the temple Trust have reached nearly Rs 5,000 crore in the last three years. The received funds are deposited into designated bank accounts of the Trust.
