After registering a win against Morteza Ghiasi of Iran in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, Bajrang Punia was scheduled to face Haji Aliyev from Azerbaijan in the semi-finals in order to ensure another Olympic medal for India. Unfortunately, he lost to Aliyev by a score of 12-5 & now will compete for a bronze medal. The 27 year old freestyle wrestler competes in the 65Kg weight category & is the only Indian wrestler to win 3 medals at the world Wrestling Championships. He has also won a gold medal at the Asian Games as well as the Commonwealth Games. The only thing missing from his collection is an Olympic medal for which he will have to be at his 100℅ performance.
